Tip! Google the name of your current foundation + swatch. Compare those images with our swatch to get a better sense of which shade is the best match.

Torn between two shades?

These tips might help:

Choose the lighter shade if:

  • It's early autumn and your skin tone will soon lighten.
  • You use a lot of bronzer or blush, which adds depth to your complexion.
  • You have a cool undertone, as a deeper shade may appear slightly warmer on your skin.

Tip! If your skin tone will be lighter soon, you can always add some bronzer for extra depth until then.

Choose the deeper shade if:

  • It's spring and your skin tone will soon become more deep in the sun.
  • You're heading on a sunny vacation soon.
  • Your décolletage has a deeper tone, which is common from sun exposure.
  • You occasionally use self-tanner.

Tip! If your skin tone is about to become more deep from the sun or self-tanner, just add a little bronzer to your neck and décolletage to keep things even!

Different skin tones on your face?

This person is a Shade 30 in the center of the face and Shade 40 along the hairline and jawline.

Option 1: Two shades
Apply Shade 30 to the center of the face and Shade 40 to the outer edges.

Option 2: Go for the deeper shade
Using a shade that’s too light on deeper areas can result in a cooler tone. Instead, opt for the deeper shade - Shade 40 in this case.

If desired, you can easily brighten specific areas with concealer.

Same shade. Different undertones.

Our foundation offers light to medium coverage, allowing your natural undertone to shine through.

Because of this, each shade is versatile, meaning two people with slightly different skin tones can wear the same shade and still achieve flawless results!

Here’s an example of two individuals with different undertones, both wearing Shade 30 foundation.

Which powder shade should I choose?

Our powder comes in two shades and is completely translucent with no coverage. We recommend pairing:

Foundation Shades 10-50 with Powder Shade 100.
Foundation Shades 60-80 with Powder Shade 200.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Can I mix foundation shades?

Absolutely! You can easily mix our shades.

For example, it’s common to use Shade 20 in winter and Shade 40 in summer. During spring or autumn, mix them together instead of purchasing Shade 30.

How much coverage does your foundation provide?

Our foundation offers light to medium coverage and is buildable to medium+.

Light coverage
Apply with a soft brush and spread a thin layer over your skin.

Medium coverage
Use a damp makeup sponge or a more compact brush. Dab a generous amount of foundation into your skin.

Buildable to medium+
Add another layer of foundation with a dabbing motion in specific areas.

Looking for full coverage?
You can easily complement the foundation with a concealer for areas like dark circles or acne.

Does your foundation cover redness?

Our foundation covers most redness, but because red is such an intense color, a slight hue may still show through in areas with a lot of redness.

For full coverage, we recommend using a color-correcting product or a full-coverage concealer.

How long-lasting is your foundation?

If you generally don’t have issues with your base makeup staying put, our foundation offers excellent wear even on its own!

However, unlike our primer and powder, which encapsulate oil and sweat throughout the day, our foundation doesn’t have those encapsulating properties.

If you tend to sweat, have oily areas, or live an active lifestyle, you’ll need to add primer and/or powder for optimal longevity. Many people use our full Uniset® Trio in summer and switch to just our foundation in winter.

Is your foundation long-lasting on dry skin?

Our foundation is hydrating and works wonderfully on dry skin!

When used alone, it gives a natural and hydrated finish (not matte). If you add our primer and powder, you’ll achieve a natural soft matte finish.

Many with dry skin apply primer and/or powder only on areas where makeup tends to wear off during the day, such as the nose, cheeks, and chin, allowing the rest of the face to maintain the hydrated finish from the foundation.

You can easily add glow products on top if you prefer a more radiant look!

Is your foundation long-lastin on oily skin?

We designed our foundation to provide a skin-like finish without leaving a greasy or sticky film on the skin. It’s lightweight and blends seamlessly, making it an excellent choice for both dry and oily skin!

However, the formula doesn’t have the oil- and sweat-encapsulating properties that our primer and powder offer. To achieve a shine-reducing, long-lasting result that doesn’t slide off oily areas throughout the day, you’ll need to add our primer and powder.

Together with our primer and powder, our foundation is magical on combination and oily skin!

Can I use the powder Shade 200 as a bronzer?

Many use our powder shade 200 as a bronzer to achieve a deeper, sun-kissed result, and it works perfectly!

Sweep a light layer of Shade 200 across the entire face or specific areas.

Since the shade is lightly pigmented, if you're looking for more defined contouring or want to apply a significant amount, we recommend using a regular bronzer/contouring product.
